Chrono Bank

Privacy Policy

Last updated 26 May 2026. Chrono Bank is an open beta, and this policy may change as the service grows.

In plain terms: we collect only what we need to run Chrono Bank, we use it only to operate and improve the service, and we never sell it.

What we collect

We do not collect additional information beyond what the service needs to function.

What is public

Chrono Bank is a translucent ledger. Account balances and account identifiers are public, as are reversal events. The details of individual transactions are private to the parties involved.

How we use your information

We use your information solely to operate and improve Chrono Bank — keeping the system reliable, secure, and fair. In particular, we analyse activity to detect and act on abuse. For example, if we determine that one person is operating multiple income-collecting accounts to send money to themselves (farming the universal income), we may suspend all of that person's accounts. A suspended user may appeal, and we may reinstate their primary account at our discretion.

Account recovery

In the future we may collect limited additional information from you, with your knowledge, for the sole purpose of helping you recover access to a lost account.

What we never do

We never sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers or data brokers, and we don't use it for advertising.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of providers to run the service — currently our sign-in provider (Clerk) and our hosting infrastructure. They process data only as needed to provide their service to us.

Questions and requests

A support portal for questions, data requests, and appeals is planned. We'll update this policy with how to reach us when it's available.
